It's that time of year again. Christmas has come like a storm and my bench is a visual reminder of just how insane the month of December can be. I take a few days off to catch my breath but it never takes long before the bench calls me back. The need to create is never far. It is a reminder that I truly love what I do (even when I don't.)
With the end of the year comes the compulsion to begin something new. My attention span has always been short. There is a lifespan to what we create. It is almost a living breathing entity. It begins as a seed, an idea and it grows pushing harder and harder against the walls that confine it until it reaches a fiery climax of all it can be. It is in this moment that we can look back and see the brilliance of that initial seed and our creative journey to nurture and sometimes attack carnivorously each part of it's whole. We chew away at it allowing it to evolve and explode. We take a moment to witness the beauty and we move on. We start again.
And so comes the beginning of the year and the desire to begin again drives us to look inward. A million ideas have drifted through the creative mind unfilled due to hectic days but January comes as a blissful peace allowing us the time and space to bring the creative ideas to fruition and eventually to share them with you.
